Magnetic Locks

Magnetic locks consist of a plate that is attached to the door frame and an electric-powered magnetic plate that is installed on the door. When the two components connect, the door is locked by the magnetic power which typically ranges from 600 to 1200 lbs. This hardware can be mounted on many different door designs, even those that are not the standard fit for mortise or electric latch functions. Magnetic locks are very secure and can be integrated with complete access control or intercom systems for hands-free entry and exit from the building.

Case Study

In this project, the management of a luxury condominium contacted Paragon Security to upgrade the existing magnetic locks on the lobby entry doors of their property. Our technicians installed four Seco-Larm magnetic locks, replaced old electronic strikes with new heavy-duty Von Duprin electric strikes, and installed four custom-made stainless steel plates to cover the space in the door frames left by the old lock system.
