A California based company has invented a Marijuana vending machine that aims to change the world of medical cannabis. Dispense Labs created to Autospense, a pot dispensing machine, so it can be placed in drug stores and other medical dispensaries. This will allow an around-the-clock service that is crucial for customers who, for medical and other reasons, are more likely to shop for their “fix” at night.
But with no human supervision, and a desirable and hard-to-get commodity in store, Dispense Labs were faced with the challenge of securing the Autospense.
To provide the necessary protection the company has gone high-tech. The machine is placed inside a vending cage accessible only with a valid registration card. Registered machine customers will also provide fingerprint authentication. The machine is under constant closed-circuit surveillance, and is protected by locks. The machine also keeps strict record of the purchases made.
The only Autospense currently in operation is in The Dispensary Store in Santa Ana, California. “You want to make sure all your members are safe,” said Lera Nastri, managing director. “The priority is for our members to have access to their medication.”
